Kestel Beach
Located east of Alanya’s city center, Kestel Beach is one of the areas along the Mediterranean coast that stands out for its coastal strip and its walking and biking trails. Thanks to Kestel’s coastal location and its proximity to the Dim River and Alanya’s eastern coastline, it’s possible to combine the sea with the surrounding natural beauty in a single itinerary.

About
Kestel Beach is a section of the Mediterranean coastline that stretches along the Kestel neighborhood, east of downtown Alanya. Because it is situated along the coastline running eastward from the city center, it is one of the most easily accessible beach destinations for both Alanya residents and visitors staying in the region.
Beach and Sea
The Antalya Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism defines the coastal strip east of Alanya as a long stretch of beach extending eastward from Keykubat Beach. Official environmental records also list sandy beach areas in the Kestel region.
Since the coastal structure may vary at different points along the Kestel coastline, it is more accurate to consider the current sea conditions at the specific location you plan to visit rather than assuming every section of the sea has the same depth or seabed characteristics.
Proximity to the Dim River
One of Kestel’s major advantages is its proximity to the Dim River. According to the Culture Portal, the Dim River flows approximately 60 kilometers from the Taurus Mountains before emptying into the Mediterranean Sea at the border of the Tosmur and Kestel neighborhoods.
For this reason, it is possible to plan a visit to Kestel Beach on the same day as a trip to the Dim River.
Hiking and Biking
The Kestel coastline is part of the coastal route that extends along Alanya’s eastern shores. It is an ideal area for visitors who wish to take a walk along the seashore and explore various coastal spots.
A Day in Kestel
We can view Kestel not just as a spot for swimming, but as one of the starting points for exploring eastern Alanya.
A route can be planned starting with the beach in the morning, followed by the Dim River, and—for visitors with extra time—the Dim Cave. The Culture Portal also notes that there are restaurants, cafes, and rest areas around the Dim River.
