Operating under Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKÜ), the ALKÜ Applied Preschool has begun the 2026–2027 academic year with educational programs guided by academics, a team of expert educators, and a play-based learning approach. Bringing the university’s academic expertise to early childhood education, the preschool supports children’s development in a safe, high-quality, and scientifically grounded environment, accompanying them on their journey of discovery, learning, and growth. During the adjustment period, the goal was for students to become familiar with their new educational environment, build trusting relationships with their teachers and peers, and get used to school routines. This helped support the children’s transition to a learning environment where they would feel safe and comfortable. In line with the Turkey Century Education Model, emphasis is placed on a holistic approach to children’s cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language development. As part of values education, the goal is for children to internalize values such as love, respect, responsibility, cooperation, and solidarity through their daily life experiences.
The Applied Kindergarten, operating within ALKU, offers children a high-quality learning environment by integrating the university’s academic expertise and scientific approach with early childhood education. In educational processes guided by faculty members, children’s development is monitored through a holistic approach, while families are encouraged to actively participate in the educational process. This fosters a safe, scientific, and child-centered educational environment that supports children’s development.
At the ALKÜ Applied Preschool, educational processes center on children’s active participation and learning through experience. Activities that bring together the fields of play, science, nature, art, movement, foreign languages, and technology encourage children to be curious, ask questions, explore, and learn through creation. In this process, the goal is not only for children to acquire knowledge but also to develop skills such as curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration. This creates an educational environment that enables children to discover their own interests and talents and take an active role in their learning processes.
ALKÜ Applied Kindergarten Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih Şeker stated that their goal for the new term is to guide children’s learning in an educational environment where they feel safe and happy, and where their sense of curiosity and discovery is nurtured. Şeker emphasized that they prioritize children’s development into individuals who, from an early age, ask questions, explore, create, and actively participate in problem-solving processes, highlighting that play- and experience-based learning plays a significant role in children’s holistic development. With its high-quality educational environment backed by the university, academic guidance, expert teaching staff, and child-centered approach to learning, ALKÜ Applied Kindergarten continues to contribute to the growth of young children in the 2026–2027-Teaching Year, the university-backed ALKÜ Applied Kindergarten continues to contribute to the growth of young children as individuals who learn through play, explore, and prepare for the future with confidence.
