About

The Hüseyin Azakoğlu City Memory and City Museum is an important museum that introduces visitors not only to Alanya’s ancient and Seljuk history but also to its recent urban life and local culture.

Various sections of the museum provide information about Alanya’s history, social life, culture, livelihoods, economy, and the history of local governance.

The museum also features sections dedicated to traditional trades. Activities that played a significant role in Alanya’s daily life in the past—such as weaving, blacksmithing, carpentry, and agricultural life—are illustrated through various exhibits.

The upper floors feature spaces reflecting life in a traditional Alanya home—including a kitchen and a sewing room—as well as exhibits on the city’s cultural and entertainment history. The museum also has areas where visitors can experience traditional practices firsthand.

Rather than focusing on archaeological artifacts, it tells the story of Alanya’s people, their daily lives, and the city’s recent cultural history, making it a wonderful complement to the Archaeology Museum.
